Midnight Oil Nut Brown

Brewing beer at night = not recommended

30lb Pale Malt
4.5lb Crystal Malt
4oz Roasted Malt
4oz Carafa Chocolate
2lb Carafoam

Mash at 158 for an hour

Boiled for 1.5 hours
@90 2.5oz Northern Brewer
@15 2oz Cluster

2nd Batch Brew

This week we did two brews, with to yeasts.

MALTS:
34 lb Pale
3lb British Caramalt (mouth feel body)
2lb German Melanoidin (malt aroman)
3lb Carafoam (head retention)
1lb Crystal (sweetness)
MASH ~150 F for two hours

1) English Bitter
2.5oz Fuggles @70 min
1.25oz Sterling @30 min
.75oz Sterling @ EOB
Repitched the Yorkshire Yeast

2) American Pale
3.5oz Cascade @ 70 min
1.25oz Athanum @15 min
.75z Athanum @ EOB
Repitched the FlyingDog Yeast

Had a third carboy with half and half... mmmm tasty
